Last term the scouts worked towards completing many badges which were made up of challenges and tasks.

We covered the following badges: D.I.Y, Air Spotters, Skills, Pioneering, Cooking, Outdoors, Global, International and Survival skills.

The Big Garden Bird Watch

This year the 8th Tynemouth took part in the RSPB big garden bird watch. Up to half a million people took part in counting garden birds for the event as part of a national wild life survey.

To play our part we made bird houses and feeders for the scouts to hang up in their back gardens and the scouts took part in counting which birds they saw.

Scouts Skills Day

During the school half term we held our first skills day.

We met at lunchtime and went down to Wallsend Park where we followed a orienteering course. We then spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at the hut building and developing new and existing skills.

Next Term

Over the next term we will continue on developing the skills we have learned and challenge ourselves to take part in new activities. We will be covering First Aid, Home and Camp Safety and D.I.Y as well as preparing for Marra Camp.
